Ministries

“The greatest responsibility a Church has is to minister to this generation. LBC takes that challenge very seriously. We are constantly and prayerfully considering new ways to reach the world around us with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Church should be an exciting, friendly, and safe place. Our desire is to provide that atmosphere, along with Biblical preaching and teaching, stimulating fellowship, and sincere encouragement to all who enter our doors.

Please allow me to introduce some of our ministries and activities to you.”

Youth Ministry

Youth/Associate Pastor, Hernan Hernandez, does a fantastic job teaching, training, and motivating our young folks. It is a ministry geared to meet their needs and prepare them for serving the Lord in their world. They meet every Wednesday night at 7:00 for fellowship and a Bible lesson. Their calendar is filled with activities designed to move them to greater spiritual growth and to develop solid spiritual relationships.

Children’s Ministry

Wednesday evening is an opportunity for everyone, including our elementary and Jr. age kids. Classes are provided for every age group with lessons designed especially for them by qualified teachers.

Children’s Church

We have been blessed with a dedicated team of people burdened about the teaching and training of our young folks. Every Sunday morning our elementary kids through 3rd grade enjoy their own worship service designed to reach them on their level.

Mid-Week Bible Study

We all know that we need a little help to get through our week! It can be a long time between Sundays! Every Wednesday evening at 7:00 is an informal time to study God’s Word, share needs and burdens, and spend a little time in prayer.

Weekly Bible Study

A men’s and ladies Bible study is held every Tuesday at 9:00am from September through May. The focus is on enriching and strengthening our daily walk with the Lord.

Church Camp

LBC is part of the Independent Baptist Encampment, a week-long camp held in July at Timberline Baptist Camp in Lindale, TX.
It is “family” oriented with classes and activities for all age groups. With over 300 in attendance from several different Churches, it is a great time of fun, learning, and making new friends.

Fall Festival & Stew Supper

Since the early 1960’s LBC has been hosting an annual Fall Festival and “Hobo” Stew Supper on the last Saturday in October. We begin with all kinds of activities for kids of all ages provided by each of our Sunday School classes. Games. Bounce Houses, Cake Walks, and Pumpkin Carving, are just a few of the activities provided. Each family brings their favorite stew which is added to our iron pot and simmered to perfection. It’s different every year! The food and the fellowship are always just right.

Good-Timers

Our seniors meet on the 3rd Thursday of every month for great food, fun, and fellowship. They are a vibrant part of our Church family and provide a much-needed ministry to our “seasoned” folks. If you’re in the “over 50” crowd, they’ll have something for you!
